The January Cure was one of my favorite projects at Apartment Therapy. It was an annual event that I concepted and did all the copy and images for each year . For it, I developed a whole new way to promote, package and deliver content to readers that we were able to map into other successful events.
It was a free participation program for people to get their homes in great shape for the year ahead by completing small daily organizational tasks each day throughout January. The program consisted of 22 posts, published on site and also sent directly to each of the Cure participants’ email boxes each morning.
It was designed to be effective yet encouraging (improvement, not perfection!) and was well-loved by the participants, many of whom joined each time as a regular way to start the new year.
It was also a super successful way to guarantee good traffic (and good vibes) during what can be a slow month for online ad sales.
But most of all, it was a community that came together each year in a unique way, creating a connection in the midst of the vast internet. I was proud to facilitate that connection while helping people make their homes just a bit more organised and healthy than they were before we got started.
